Achieving Excellence: How Can Millennials Reach Their Full Potential? with Agostino Marengo

Millennials hold significant responsibility for our future in business. But in today’s fast-evolving world, how can we prepare for this future? Agostino Marengo, an executive coach for millennials, talks about how he helps them reach their full potential.

In this episode, Agostino expounds on the implications of what he calls “the Golden Rush Evolution” in the business field. In line with this, he discusses how we can face this evolution by following his four steps to achieving excellence. So are you interested in unlocking your full potential? Then make sure you check these show notes and listen to the podcast to find out more!

About Our Guest:

Agostino Marengo is a man of many talents. He is currently a university professor, mechanical engineer, and an executive coach for millennials. He has also dedicated his life to helping millennials who wish to pursue business, entrepreneurship, and other careers.

Agostino's Insights on Millennials and Their Full Potential

Agostino’s Beginnings

  • Agostino did not come from an entrepreneurial family.
  • He pursued multiple fields, such as mechanical engineering and computer science.
  • Losing interest in his previous fields, he became fascinated in history. Hence, he started his career as a professor and research in university by 2000.

Implications of the Golden Rush Evolution

  • The fourth and current industrial revolution is characterized by a high rate of technological advancements that occurred in a short amount of time.
  • There is a heavy emphasis on the use of the internet and artificial intelligence.
  • New jobs are now emerging, but universities are not yet prepared to teach these to students.

Facing the Evolution: Three Assets

  • First, Savoir Faire (Knowing How to Do) - learning what you can in university
  • Second, Savoir Vivre (Knowing How to Live) - focusing on networking to position yourself in your job market
  • Third, Savoir Dire (Knowing How to Be) - having the self-awareness to realize your passion

Hard Skills vs Soft Skills

  • Hard skills are what you learn within the university, like medicine and engineering. These are going to be quickly outdated
  • On the other hand, soft skills focus on relating to others, such as honesty and kindness. These will help us adapt to the changes brought by the golden rush evolution.
  • Soft skills, despite their importance, are often forgotten, especially in the age of social media.

Four Steps to Achieving Excellence

  • Search for your “Why.”
    • “Why will you do what you want to do?”
    • Find your passions.
    • Try everything you can do (e.g., gain experience, work for someone you admire).
  • Plan for your goals.
    • Formulate a time and action plan to develop your path to reach your goals.
  • Take action.
    • The most crucial step is to start walking.
    • Taking action also entails growth and improvement.
    • Refrain from overthinking whether your plan is good enough.
  • Be consistent.
    • A plan without consistency does not work.
    • Being consistent means putting in the same amount of effort and following through with your plans.

Habits You Need to Achieve Excellence

  • Be kind.
  • Enjoy everyday life.
  • Work on your uniqueness.
  • Create daily habits.
  • Believe in what you do.

Empowering Women: Starting a Purpose-Driven Business — With Eram Saeed

Women are driven by their passion and dreams. However, in the business world, passion is merely a starting off point. Eram Saeed, founder and host of From Heartache to Joy Global Summit, talks about her passion and how far this has taken her in her journey as a businesswoman.

In this episode, Eram wishes to empower other women by sharing her experiences and insights on what goes into starting a purpose-driven business. She also emphasizes maintaining a balance between finding your purpose and making sure your bills are paid. Are you interested in monetizing your passion? Check these show notes and listen to the podcast to find out more!

About Our Guest:

Eram Saeed is the owner and founder of From Heartache to Joy Global Summit, which launched in October 2012. Now, she dedicates her time helping women discover their divine gifts and utilize them towards purpose-driven businesses.

Eram's Insights on Purpose-Driven Businesses

Starting Her Business

  • During her childhood years, Eram was raised in Pakistan, where people consider the idea of girls pursuing a career as “useless.”
  • Despite excelling academically in her 14 years of education, she was encouraged by her parents to marry instead of pursuing an MBA.
  • She experienced a cycle of loss for almost 20 years. This included her second divorce, and she had to learn to create a business on her own.

Challenges Faced

  • Lack of information (e.g., do’s and don’ts, the failure rate of telesummits) regarding business since she wasn’t able to pursue a degree
  • Problems in her personal life (no career, 2–3 lawsuits including a divorce and bankruptcy case)

What Helped Her Succeed

  • Value absolute commitment. Never take no for an answer.
  • Disconnect from people who put you down. They can bring you down and mess with your mindset.
  • Understand the law of attraction. You attract what you are, so keep your hopes and energy high.

Letting Go of What You Know

  • She believes that “What you know is holding you back.”
  • Our perception of the world creates our reality. It affects the way we treat and go about life, which consequently leads to the reality in which we live.
  • There is no absolute truth, even if our ego makes us believe there is.
  • Questioning our own version of the truth is what can help us grow.

The Role of Passion

  • While going through a dark time in her life, Eram was inspired by positive messages she heard from telesummits about spirituality and consciousness.
  • She found her passion for sharing these messages with other people in similar situations.
  • It was a perfect opportunity for her to share her story while getting paid to do so.

How Do We Find Our Passion?

  • Remember that passions change, and entrepreneurship is NOT supposed to remain the same.
  • Passion is what guides you to your purpose, but it doesn’t have to be your purpose.
  • Take note of other elements: (1) what I love doing, (2) what I get paid for, (3) what I’m good at, and (4) what the world needs.

Investing in a Business

  • Focus on your natural gifts and how to monetize it.
  • It does not take a lot of monetary investment, but it does take grit and commitment.

Divine Feminine Business Model

  • Not a model of competition, consumerism, or capitalism
  • More balanced and wholesome
  • Features elements of collaboration (there is enough for everyone, about sharing), compassion, and ability to show emotion
  • Reason for success: transparency in the business, being vulnerable in front of my audience
  • Creating an atmosphere of TRUST

Traits of Successful Students in Business

  • Know they are born for leadership roles
  • Wish to enjoy the gift of purpose
  • Want to make an impact on the world

The Ins and Outs of Buying and Selling an Online Business — With Jaryd Krause

There are many ways to make money online. In fact, online businesses continue to thrive in today's time. From dropshipping to blogging to marketing, you can do everything on the Internet. However, what are the realistic ways that you can do to get started? One way is through buying an online business.

In this episode, Jaryd Krause joins us to talk about how buying and selling online businesses work. He shares the biggest challenges in this industry and how you can turn them into opportunities. If you're interested in the know-how of succeeding in website businesses, check out these episode highlights, and don't forget to tune in to this podcast!

About Our Guest:

Jaryd Krause is the founder and CEO of Buying Online Businesses Podcast, where he mentors people on how to make a profit on website businesses. He helps other aspiring clients to reach success just like he did. Jaryd used to work 60 plus hours per week as a plumber, and now he owns multiple online businesses.

Jaryd's Insights on Buying an Online Business

Getting Into Business

  • He took inspiration from people who were doing well with their businesses. Naively, he tried starting his own and failed a lot of times.
  • He then turned to the Internet and realized that he could buy online businesses.
  • He taught himself how SEO and digital marketing work.
  • Eventually, people started to find out about what he does and came to him for help.

The Biggest Challenges in Figuring Out How Online Business Works

  • He hated being a plumber and tried running away from it. More than that, he tried running away from his life.
  • He traveled around the world from 6 to 12 months. After that, he realized that he needed to set a goal in line with his love of traveling.
  • He first tried out travel blogging. Although he did make money, it was challenging. However, he learned more about how online business works.
  • He set up a drop-shipping store that led him to his aha moment.
  • If you're going to invest in anything, you need to do your due diligence.

Buying an Online Business

  • In business, what gets measured gets managed.
  • Even if you work with a good broker, you still have to contact the seller to know about the finance and other information about a business.
  • You can make an opportunity out of not knowing the numbers.
  • He suggests not to spend less than $10,000 range because otherwise, you don't get what you paid for.

Financing a Business

  • You can get financing from a finance broker who will help you get it from a bank or a lender.
  • You can also raise your capital.
  • The collateral varies from different lenders.

Creative Deals When Buying an Online Business

  • If you're going for a no-money-down deal, you're settling for a no-good business.
  • "It's better to buy a good business at a fair price instead of a good price."
  • He encourages creativity but not risky creative deals because you may end up with more hassle.
  • The value of the business is dependent on the business model.

Opportunities in Buying an Online Business

  • Sellers are prepared to take less money to give the business to an attractive buyer.
  • It's also dependent on how sellers think a buyer can flourish the online business.
  • Buyers need to understand how to manage the business by numbers and delegation.

Recommendations for Entrepreneurs

  • Website brokers enable you to see the numbers—its cost, how much it makes, its expenses, among other information. Brokers allow you to take a look at the business model.
  • The next step is honing due diligence.

When Do Things Go Wrong?

  • People buy businesses when they haven't verified the financials and looked at the merchant account and traffic.
  • Buyers should have full responsibility when they decide to buy or invest in a business.

Online Business Niches

  • There are some like real estate where they buy, renovate, grow, and flip the business.
  • There's a market where people use skills like marketing to attract potential clients.
  • There is also a business niche where everything is prepaid and set up.
  • Some sell personal blogs, and others have personal brands attached to the business.

The Way To Success

  • Making cash through a business has a lower investment risk.
  • Do less to make more; focus on what's working and make it better.
  • Don't expect success overnight.
  • Set goals and work towards them; pursue your passion.

Will Your Business Survive 2020?

It's here. It's HAPPENING - 2020 will be the year of "Business not as usual".

If you've been living under a rock, the world economy is in BIG TROUBLE right now.

Are you ready?

This video outlines how my 21 Day Productivity Challenge gets you results with just 15min per day for 21 days. I SHOULD rename it "The 21 Day 2020 Business Preparedness Program" because that's what it'll do for you.

Program will begin Monday March 2nd - next week.

Registration closes THIS Saturday February 29th.

We already have people in the program. It will start regardless of if all 30 spots fill or not - but YOUR opportunity to join will be gone unless you act now.

Supply chains are already strained, governments are playing 'whack-a-mole' trying to contain things.. The propaganda machines are in full swing.... It's time identify plus ITEMIZE essential business functions, essential jobs or roles, plus critical elements within your supply chains (e.g., raw materials, suppliers, subcontractor services/products, and logistics) required to maintain business operations.

EVEN THE CDC - Centre for Disease Control - has said:
NOW IS THE TIME FOR US BUSINESSES TO PREPARE:

You need to get help NOW for how your business will operate if there is increasing absenteeism or supply chains continue to be interrupted.

It's your time to act NOW to organize your business plus your team's work to focus on essential tasks plus understand which nonessential tasks can go undone.

The need for increased focus, productivity, clarity & accountability is greater NOW than any other time the past 12 months.

It is NOT AN ACCIDENT my program "The 21 Day Productivity Challenge" is designed to help you do exactly this... This video explains.

The habits, strategies and tactics you will get are fundamental to your success in ANY economy!

I've been helping grow businesses for 17 years.. I've had massive successes generating MILLIONS in sales BUT I've also had a handful of failures.. I became OBSESSED with figuring out why some people get results and others don't.

This program is the answer.. It really, truly, honestly & sincerely "cross-my-heart-hope-to-die-stick-a-needle-in-my-eye" is based on all my 17 years experience, millions in sales for clients & HUNDREDS of business owners - just like you - helped.

Most people are perfectly happy to drop $1,000+ on a vacation, a new TV, or on some new gadget or phone. But if you ever want to gain the knowledge, skills and mindset needed to PROTECT yourself, your staff, your families, your customers.. If you want to take your income to the next level and not only 'survive' but THRIVE - EVEN in a bad economy… then you have to invest in yourself.

For a little while longer, you can get started today with The 21 Day Productivity Challenge.

You can use this program to cross-train key staff at work so one person’s absence won’t derail your organization’s ability to function PLUS all the other life-or-death benefits I've mentioned.

BUT YOU NEED TO BE A PART OF YOUR OWN RESCUE!

No need to panic but YOU DO NEED TO PREPARE & PREPARE NOW!!!

THIS IS NOT A DRILL, IT IS NOT A JOKE!

Suffer the pain of discipline or the pain of regret - but you will not escape them both!

You've seen my case studies.. I'm telling you this is the best deal I've made in my entire career with the most valuable training you can ADD on to your existing day to day flow.

You do not need to make any massive changes.. Just go watch this video to find out how you can get started with just 15min per day for 21 days.

Go here to see the training video which explains more:

Remember - Your Success IS My Success... But you need to let me help you. I can't force my help on anyone.. I can only try to be persistent and help you understand you cannot do it alone.. No one is going to rescue you unless you are an active participant in the rescue yourself.

You might have to go through 2020 yourself, but you won't have to do it alone.

Go watch my training video here:

It's my best effort to save you and your business from becoming a statistic.

Warm Regards,

Daryl Urbanski

TIME:

TIME is the inexplicable raw material of everything.

With it, all is possible; without it, nothing.

The supply of time is truly a daily miracle, an affair genuinely astonishing when one examines it.You wake up in the morning, and lo! Your purse is magically filled with twenty-four hours of the unmanufactured tissue of the universe of your life!

It is yours.

It is the most precious of possessions.

No one can take it from you. It is unstealable.

And no one receives either more or less than you receive. In the realm of time there is no aristocracy of wealth, and no aristocracy of intellect.

Genius is never rewarded by even an extra hour a day. And there is no punishment. Waste your infinitely precious commodity as much as you will, and the supply will never be withheld from you.

Moreover, you cannot draw on the future. Impossible to get into debt!

You can only waste the passing moment. You cannot waste tomorrow; it is kept for you. You cannot waste the next hour; it is kept for you.

I have said the affair was a miracle. Is it not?

You have to live on this twenty-four hours of daily time.

Out of it you have to spin health, pleasure, money, content, respect, and the evolution of your immortal soul.

It’s right use, its most effective use, is a matter of the highest urgency and of the most thrilling actuality. All depends on that.

Your happiness - the elusive prize that you are all clutching for, my friends! - depends on that.

If one cannot arrange that an income of twenty-four hours a day shall exactly cover all proper items of expenditure, one does muddle ones whole life indefinitely.

We shall never have any more time. We have, and we have always had, all the time there is.-

-- By Arnold Bennett

--------------------------------------_

I wanted to share this with you because it's one of my favourite poems ever.

It gets right to the point..

Everything we want and desire in our lives we must find a way to create from the time we are given. We all know results come from getting things done.

I am about to open registration for my 21 Day Productivity Challenge

This program is for individuals or teams who want to be more productive to complete projects sooner, have clearer accountability and follow a step by step structured process proven to get results.

This program is all about developing habits and skill sets you can use not only to feed yourself and your family today or tomorrow but possibly for generations.

Every effort adds up and contributes to your overall progress, whether it’s with your personal or business goals. So as long as you have days ahead of you, you will need this program.

I've helped people make a lot of money, and the money was great.

But I've also watched people fail & falter...

We all want to share our successes but the reality is failure hurts us all.. We each have to deal with and experience it.

Over the past 2 years I've looked at why some of my clients have thrived and others have floundered.. I want to contribute something impactful to our society.

I want to help you win more days every single day. I want to help you develop the ability to make time for the things you truly value. And it all boils down to focused intent & getting things done.

As long as you have the sincere motivation and desire, you can produce the skills, habits, and routines you need ingrained into your psyche and day-to-day living.

Only then can you achieve the life of your dreams.

Keep any eye out for the next recording announcing how you can get involved.. If you follow me on social media, look for the posts.. If you're on my email list, check your inbox.

Thank you and have a wonderful day.

Determination in Business — With Pam Reynolds

Starting a business can be tedious, especially when you do not have any background in sales marketing. The latter was also a problem to Pam Reynolds, the co-founder of Allegiance Aging Care Services.

In this episode, Pam shares her story on how she had improved her skills in entrepreneurship, which led to a successful business running for almost six years. She emphasizes building camaraderie and establishing networks. Check the show notes to pique your curiosity, and listen to the podcast as well!

About Our Guest:

Pam Reynolds is the co-founder of Allegiance Aging Care Services, which was launched with the primary goal of providing support and guidance to seniors who want to grow older in their homes.

Pam’s Insights on Determination and Improvement

How It Started

  • Pam was a social worker before she started her business.
  • She does not have any background in entrepreneurship.
  • Her friend in the senior care industry became her mentor and later a co-founder of Pam’s growing business today.

Challenges on the Way

  • Pam found it hard to get into the sales and marketing strategies for her business since she has no background.
  • Gaining trust from the people around you regarding the credibility of your business is also a challenge for Pam.

Overcoming the Hurdle

  • Showing your determination by showing up every day and being consistent is some of the first few steps.
  • To attract prospective customers, Pam says a business must consider its franchise model, and it should be unique.
  • Be open to other people’s ideas to strategize on marketing your business.

Learning Entrepreneurship

  • Pam highlights the importance of having a skill set and using your talents to utilize the growth of your business.
  • You have to work on your business, not in your business.
  • It is also essential to recognize your weaknesses or to recognize unnecessary things that would not be helpful for your business.

 Controlling Emotions

  • Never let your emotions affect your work ethic.
  • While the business is growing, all of you must work together as a team.

Making Adjustments

  • This is one sacrifice every business has to make.
  • According to Pam, it was risky because this change means she might lose some of her potential customers.
  • Never be afraid to make changes or adjustments, such as increased rates, as long as they are reasonable.

Advice for Acquirement

  • The company acquiring you must have the same values as your business.
  • If these are aligned with your core values, everything will work out smoothly.

Joining us in this episode is Chad Dike of Autogration. Chad has a passion for leveraging automation and smart software integration. Through these tools, he helps business owners remove bottlenecks and maximize efficiency to stop wasting time and focus on their right zone of genius. Don't miss this episode if you want to learn more about marketing strategies and automating your business!

About Our Guest: Chad Dike is the founder and CEO of Autogration. After 15 years with large corporations like IBM and American Express, he combined his background of technical and business experience to help business owners to improve their marketing and operations through smart automation. Autogration is a certified partner of Zapier and ClickFunnels.

Chad's Insights on Automating Your Business

Getting Started in Business

  • He was always interested in tech and got a computer science degree.
  • He worked his way through IBM.
  • He continually explored his skills by doing web projects and web designs.
  • Getting his MBA made him well-rounded.
  • He then shifted gears from being a programmer to a solutions architect in IBM—translating business needs into tech building requirements.

How Do Developers Think Versus Business Owners

  • The bottom line of customer needs drives business.
  • Tech people, on the other hand, are more driven by a sophisticated technical solution.
  • You have to find a way to speak the common language between any two groups with divergent interests.

Starting On Your Own

  • You have to differentiate yourself.
  • You have to identify your niche, and then communicate that you're fulfilling a unique need.
  • Create your own category.
  • Find out what you want to do and not the latest thing that everyone else is doing.
  • If you're not passionate about what you're doing, you're not going to find long-term success.

Evolving in the Business

  • Learn how to market yourself.
  • There are a lot of online groups and communities which can help you add value by contributing.
  • Lead with value.

Business Education

  • There are a lot of paths other than a business degree that can add value and that you can use to make a living.
  • It can give a broad and diverse way of looking at things.
  • You'll have a deep understanding of how the business needs to operate and what drives a business.

The Greatest Mistakes and Challenges in Business

  • Most businesses don't have proper tracking of their numbers.
  • If you can't measure it, you can't manage it. And if you can't handle it, you can't grow it.
  • Lack of information.
  • Having an expert set up your tracking makes sure that your software tool is functioning correctly and reporting accurately.
  • Correctly managing your data can put essential leverage points for your goals.
  • Tools can only impact your business if implemented correctly.

The Importance of Reporting

  • You have to begin with the end in mind.
  • If you don't have the reporting in place, it's hard for you to know what success looks like if you have to train and hire new people, or if you have to scale and sell yourself to be acquired.
  • You can identify bottlenecks when you have the reports in place.

Metrics and Tracking

  • Don't just focus on the metrics, a self-assessment on where you are spending your time.
  • Time tracker applications help with focus, organization, and productivity.

Simple Automation With Powerful Outcomes

  • Every form of marketing involves a stage of capturing leads.
  • You have to have something on the back end to organize your leads and your customers as they come in.
  • It is essential to stay in touch with your customers. You should continuously collect data.
  • Customers stick around because they believe in your principles or the foundation of your business.

Habits That Lead to Success

  • Taking an inventory of what you get done for the day and then list your priorities for tomorrow
  • Becoming more open and interconnected

Understanding the Sales Process — With David Lopez

Sales is the lifeblood of every business. It is what makes companies move and grow. There is a lot of misinformation when it comes to how the sales process works and how to be efficient at it.

In this episode, our guest David Lopez discusses all about sales—from starting out to the essential tips and tricks. He emphasizes the importance of a positive mindset, being confident, and knowing how to build rapport with your clients.

If you are interested in getting into sales and growing your business, check these show notes, and don't forget to listen to the podcast!

About Our Guest:

David Lopez is the CEO and founder of Majesty Level Marketing, Inc., where he mentors students and individuals to become experts in the sales process. He is an award-winning sales and marketing expert, selling millions of dollars worth of services, products, and fundraising as an external representative for several major corporations.

David's Insights on Sales

Getting Into Sales

  • He always had an entrepreneurial mindset, finding ways to be creative and make something out of nothing.
  • His real journey started at 18 when he began learning about prospecting sales, handling objections—the whole sales process—on a more corporate level.

Defining Sales

  • According to David, sales is one of the most important assets in this world.
  • Sales is the currency of this world.
  • It is what makes money move around, and every company needs to make sales to survive.

What Makes a Good Salesperson?

  • Always be prepared. Don't just show up and wing it.
  • Prospecting is a vital part of the sales process.
  • You should enjoy selling—you have to love what you are doing.
  • Be committed, and don't give up even if you're just starting and still struggling.
  • To be successful, you have to know that sales is a process.

The Importance of Rejection In Sales

  • Sales don't begin until you get your first no.
  • The more doors that you hit, the more sales that you will get.
  • The calls \you make will account for your sales.
  • If you are only doing business with people that don't say no, you become an order taker, not a salesperson.

How Do You Make Sales?

  • The key to making sales is confidence.
  • Believe there is nothing in the world that can make people tell you they don't need what you have.
  • Make sure you have something that's helping clients, which will bring them to a higher level.

Salespeople Make the World Go Round

  • People don't realize that salespeople provide value through what they sell.
  • They take action to a higher level and change your mindset—something that is not easy to do in this world.

Having a Positive Mindset

  • People are going to throw rocks at you. Whatever happens, always keep a positive attitude.
  • Don't let other people or problems get to you.

How Do You Avoid Becoming Adversarial?

  • It boils down to understanding your position.
  • Don't just get into comment rotation of agreeing and disagreeing. You have to be on the same side of the boat.
  • Always keep it as a conversation, not a confrontation.
  • Find a way to influence them and get them to hear you. Then build them up to where you both have the same understanding.
  • It's not because the clients are always right; it's because you have to maintain rapport.

Moving Down the Line With Questions

  • Asking the right questions keeps you in control.
  • Don't make it sound robotic because they would feel that it's not natural, and you're not caring about them.
  • Build a rapport targeting the situation and problem at hand.
  • You use questions not only to qualify them but also to understand their full dynamic and their situation.

Following Up and Closing a Deal

  • In sales talking, you give clients a quick solution to their problem without getting involved in it.
  • If the prospect seems dead, follow up and drag them back into different offers, or make sure you nurture them to lead further down the road.
  • Keep notes on why a client didn't pick up so you can be in touch and call them back
  • Don't cherry-pick.
  • Having a script is a good way of introduction to your story presentation.

Copywriting and Creating an Effective Marketing Strategy — With Donnie Bryant

Marketing is one of the primary components of every business. Not only is it used to attract customers, but it is also the fundamental business process of connecting and creating relationships with clients.

In this episode, we're joined by marketing consultant and direct response copywriter, Donnie Bryant. Today, you'll learn everything about building relationships, keeping your pipeline full, the impact of "borrowing" other people's platform, and the most effective marketing communication.

If you want to learn more about copywriting and effective marketing, don't forget to check this episode’s show notes and listen to the podcast!

About Our Guest:

Donnie Bryant is a direct response copywriter and marketing consultant specializing in the financial sector in Chicago. Since 2007, he has written sales copy for dozens of niches for his clients. Donnie helps clients connect with and convert their "should-be" clients with unusually useful marketing messages. At present, he works almost exclusively in the financial industry—generating $25 million for his clients over the past three years.

Donnie's Insights on Effective Marketing

The Biggest Challenges and Milestones

  • When he was starting, he had to work while learning to copywrite simultaneously.
  • Making time and energy to pick up the craft and finding people who would pay him as somebody who didn't have a background in marketing was the toughest challenge while getting started.
  • Even when you think you've got something going, you got to keep promoting yourself. Get in front of the right people and provide value for potential leads.
  • He overcame these challenges by continually grinding and hustling. He focused on what he does best—content writing.

Advice for People Starting Out

  • Become good at your craft.
  • Figure out who you want to serve. Find out where those people are and what messaging will work to attract them with some regularity.
  • Focus and be great at something specific.
  • Timing is also important.

Honing Your Platform

  • Spend less time trying to build your platform from scratch. Instead, position yourself on other people's platforms.
  • Provide high-quality content to somebody else's platform, where they already have trust, credibility, and authority.
  • From borrowing their platform, you are also able to build yours over time. Building from borrowing is a strong standing foundation.

The Biggest Mistakes in Marketing and Messaging

  • People in business assume that the reader is going to read, but you have to give them a reason to read. You have to talk about exciting things, and you have to talk about them interestingly.
  • You can’t be boring.
  • The fear of commitment to one market
  • It's about being interesting, committing to being entertaining, and being valuable to the specific market you're trying to reach.
  • Know who you're talking to, and who you want to talk with.

The Mentality that Holds You Back

  • Undervaluing yourself.
  • Being scared of asking questions
  • Not talking to clients in their language
  • Not finding the offer your audience wants

Entertainment Leads to Better Sales Leads

  • You have to be more engaging. Add entertainment value to get people’s interest.
  • You have to come further out of your comfort zone and out of what the industry typically does.

Understanding Value, Networks, and Cryptocurrency — With Sean Weisbrot

More and more people are using cryptocurrency, and this spells various effects on society. An important aspect to consider is understanding your value and forming networks, as these two things will play a vital role in the use of cryptocurrency.

Today’s guest is Sean Weisbrot, and he shares with us essential information on learning to leverage your value with your network. He also talks about the app Sidekick and the use of cryptocurrency. The discussion moves to the future of cryptocurrency and preparing yourself for what can come. This episode packs a lot of punch, so sit tight and don’t miss a single second!

About Our Guest:

Sean Weisbrot is an entrepreneur with expertise in technology, education, and nonprofits. He has a degree in Psychology and is fluent in Mandarin, which he learned when he moved to China for work back in 2008. Sean is currently the CEO of Sidekick. It is an app where individuals, educators, businesses, and influencers can create communities for messaging, payments, and a marketplace ecosystem.

Essentials to Understanding Value, Networks, and Cryptocurrency

Understanding Your Value and Networks

  • After some setbacks, Sean worked with several people to create IdeaXchange. It grew to inspire people all over China through original online content and offline speech events. It gave him speaking and training opportunities and an extensive network.
  • Instead of selling your time for money, you should sell your value for money.
  • When you can understand your worth, then you know the value you’re bringing to your connections.
  • The biggest problem is the mindset. People are stuck on the idea that they're worth more than x amount per hour.
  • Connecting value and networks: 1) Figure out your monthly expenses. 2) Save a year’s worth of your expenses. 3) Take time off to learn about the world. 4) Travel and meet people, seek out influencers, entrepreneurs, and form a network. 5) Leverage your value and your knowledge. Find what you can offer them.

Sidekick App and Cryptocurrency

  • Sidekick has many well-established competitors.
  • Sean believed that the only way to feel secure and launch the app is to have a product that’s at least as good as the competitors, if not better, from day one.
  • Sean watched WeChat grow from a small, unused product to a dominator in China. Simultaneously, Korea, Japan, and Vietnam each have its separate platform or super app, where the people can do almost anything they want.
  • Sidekick is taking the model that apps can be used by many people for several things and making it available for global use through cryptocurrency and localizing features.
  • The app is aiming to make it possible to spend cryptocurrency in stores around the world through a third-party partnership.
  • Sidekick is making it possible for people to use cryptocurrency by building communities and selling their services and products to their community.
  • Sidekick aims to embrace all possible forms of processing payments.
  • The key is to find the right partners who have the right licenses.

The Future of Cryptocurrency

  • It could go two ways: either it dies, or the world embraces it. Sean’s assumption is it will be embraced.
  • There is the issue of government regulation that can cause problems for the industry.
  • Governments are working on making their own digital fiat currency using Blockchain.
  • Sean notes the possibility of completely removing cash from society and shifting to use government-created blockchain-based currency over which they have strict and complete control.
  • Utopian future: people are free to use cryptocurrency.
  • Dystopian future: governments create their versions.
  • Both futures can coexist.
  • Sidekick exists because the future of work is remote and gig-based.
  • People may start to seek freedom, location independence, and the ability to make money based on their knowledge and the value they provide.

Preparing for the Future

  • Have a general understanding of AI and its capabilities to know the possible industries it can disrupt or enhance.
  • Those who don’t learn how to interact with AI positively will end up being replaced by people who are willing to work with it.
  • You can protect yourself by building a business and a network and capitalizing on that.
  • The faster you become location and financially independent, the better off you’re going to be.
  • If you’re responsible for yourself and those around you, and what you provide is valuable to others, then you're priceless.

For more information about Sidekick and to connect with Sean, check Sidekick’s website. You can register through the site to get early access.

You may also connect with them through Telegram.

The Success of Print on Demand — With Christopher Hamze

Technological advancements over the years allowed for improvements and the introduction of new printing techniques. The print on demand business is now a staple in several industries. It takes the hassle out of printing for different customers.

In this episode, Christopher Hamze of teelaunch shares his journey in the printing business. He’s also with us to give guidance for other companies to follow their success. If you are interested to learn how overcoming seemingly impossible challenges can help a business succeed, check these show notes and tune in to the episode!

About Our Guest:

Christopher Hamze is the founder of the print on demand company teelaunch. teelaunch promises to bring your ideas to life. They take your design ideas and orders, fulfilling them from start to finish. Customers only pay for the items they printed; thus, avoiding surplus products.

Finding Success with Print on Demand

Early Challenges

  • They were having trouble finding demand. People do not want to buy their shirts before because of the price. In screen printing, an order of 50 shirts would cost $5 per piece. However, with the direct to garment (DTG) method, each print would cost $8.
  • They tried selling to small businesses, bands, and artists, but they did not prefer the DTG prints.
  • The technology was also advancing at a rapid rate, causing their then DTG machine to become obsolete. They accumulated debt from buying machines to keep up with the technology.

The Beginning of Success

  • They interviewed twenty developers. Every one of them did not understand their idea, and they also wanted a significant amount of money.
  • Fortunately, they found a little agency in Los Angeles that understood their business idea and decided to develop it. They developed the application for $30,000.
  • The application worked, and they launched it on August 14, 2015. There were no customers in the first week. But, when the second week came, there were a few orders. By the end of August, they already have $500,000 in revenue.
  • By the end of 2015, they generate $1 million a month.

Competitive Market

  • After their success, the industry became very competitive. Thus, the pricing also became competitive.
  • They started printing on other products to help solve some of the problems brought by the competitive market. Now, they have over 85 products on their application.
  • Before, shirts comprise 100% of their sales. Today, they only comprise 40% of their total sales.

 Retaining Customers

  • They were hands-on with their customers. They value customers’ feedback and suggestions.
  • They built personal relationships with their customers, and that made their customers comfortable working with them.
  • If customers feel heard, they will trust you with their needs from your business.

Recommendations for Other Businesses

  • Do not give up, especially if you believe in what you and your business can offer. If you believe in something, keep working for it.
  • Keep brainstorming for ideas to sustain the company.
  • It is also essential to build backups because unexpected things may happen.
  • You need to put the business first. For instance, business owners need to know when to fire an employee who negatively affects the company.

Top Mistakes of Entrepreneurs

  • Business owners do not focus on cash flow, which is an essential aspect of a business.
  • They do not realize that there are a lot of ups and downs. There are cyclical factors that affect a business.

Importance of Business Strategies

  • It is crucial to learn about new advertising techniques.
  • It is not advisable to rely on one social media platform for advertisements.
